For years, I painted almost exclusively animals.
Not because I lacked inspiration, but because animals felt like a safe way to express emotions. Through them, I could tell stories without revealing too much of myself.
Painting people was different.
A portrait reveals vulnerability, confidence, fear and identity. For a long time, I wasn't ready to face that challenge.
Everything changed when I moved between France and South Korea. Discovering new cultures and starting a new life as a full-time artist pushed me to grow—not only as a painter, but also as a person.
That's how Woman & Owl was born.
This painting marks the beginning of my new series, Women of the World & Their Guardian Animals.
Each artwork will portray a woman inspired by a different culture, accompanied by an animal that reflects her inner strength, wisdom or resilience. Through symbolism, I hope to tell stories that connect people beyond borders.
The woman in this first painting represents who I have become today.
The owl symbolizes wisdom, clarity and quiet strength.
Together, they face the viewer without fear.
This painting is not about beauty or perfection.
It is about having the courage to accept who you are and to look at the world with confidence.
In many ways, Woman & Owl is the first painting that truly feels like me.
