Dragons fight

₩1,198,000

In La Fontaine's fable "The Two Dragons," these mythical creatures symbolize rival powers locked in a conflict where their immense strength serves less to protect than to destroy one another, leaving behind only fear and chaos. La Fontaine uses this duel to criticize the futile struggles of the powerful, reminding us that when great forces clash, it is often the weakest who suffer the consequences.
In Korean tradition, however, the dragon (yong) is not a destructive monster but a benevolent guardian, master of the waters and rain, bringing fertility and prosperity to the land. While La Fontaine's dragons warn against pointless rivalry and pride, the Korean dragon embodies wisdom, balance, and protection, revealing two cultural facets of the same mythical figure: one as a cautionary tale about power, the other as a symbol of harmony and life.
