The Carp and the Dragon — Moon Jar

This contemporary Moon Jar is inspired by the ancient story of the carp swimming against powerful currents toward the Dragon Gate. The carp that succeeds in overcoming the obstacles and reaching the gate transforms into a dragon — a symbol of perseverance, transformation, ambition and achievement.

In this piece, a delicate pink and bronze carp rises through blue waves toward a dragon emerging from the clouds. The dragon and clouds are created with a 3D relief technique, allowing them to appear and disappear subtly as the light changes.

The bronze and gold background is enriched with iridescent effects, while gold powder and acrylic details bring additional luminosity and depth to the composition.
